It's ALL about Advents -- Paper Secrets Blog Hop

Welcome to your 1st stop on the Paper Secrets Holiday Blog Hop.
I made this to share with you today.

Here are 3 Advent Calendars I have made through out the past 5 years. Last one is an advent of drawers. You can put a small treat or a prize in each drawer. All the way to Xmas. It's a Karen Foster box which I painted and added some Making Memories paper and embelies to.

Next advent is a 12x12 canvas. This one is about 5 years old. So it has seen much love from my 7 year old. I used a standard 12x12 canvas and mod podged on some holiday paper. Next I created squares for each day. Some are pockets, tags, or doors. Each day has a sentiment or an idea to do that day. Such as hang up the wreath, bake sugar cookies or read the Night before Christmas. I used lots of odds and ends on this one. Quickutz, punches, metal findins, ribbon and stamps.

The first advent I made was done this year with my son. It's a yardstick!! And I covered it with pockets cut out of cardstock with the Winter Wishes set from the Lifestyle Crafts. The numbers were cut out on the cricut. Inside each pocket is a coordinating vintage picture. The pictures came from the latest Xmas Collection from Graphic 45. After you pull a picture out each day you can paperclip it to the envie. The back is blank so you could really write down a scripture or a quote on the back. We had a wonderful timr putting this together in his Kids Klub.

I hope these can get YOU inspired to create an advent or countdown of your own for next year. It can be for Xmas or for another holiday or celebration. :) The ideas are endless.
