It's ALL about Advents -- Paper Secrets Blog Hop

Welcome to your 1st stop on the Paper Secrets Holiday Blog Hop.
I made this to share with you today.

Here are 3 Advent Calendars I have made through out the past 5 years. Last one is an advent of drawers. You can put a small treat or a prize in each drawer. All the way to Xmas. It's a Karen Foster box which I painted and added some Making Memories paper and embelies to.

Next advent is a 12x12 canvas. This one is about 5 years old. So it has seen much love from my 7 year old. I used a standard 12x12 canvas and mod podged on some holiday paper. Next I created squares for each day. Some are pockets, tags, or doors. Each day has a sentiment or an idea to do that day. Such as hang up the wreath, bake sugar cookies or read the Night before Christmas. I used lots of odds and ends on this one. Quickutz, punches, metal findins, ribbon and stamps.

The first advent I made was done this year with my son. It's a yardstick!! And I covered it with pockets cut out of cardstock with the Winter Wishes set from the Lifestyle Crafts. The numbers were cut out on the cricut. Inside each pocket is a coordinating vintage picture. The pictures came from the latest Xmas Collection from Graphic 45. After you pull a picture out each day you can paperclip it to the envie. The back is blank so you could really write down a scripture or a quote on the back. We had a wonderful timr putting this together in his Kids Klub.

I hope these can get YOU inspired to create an advent or countdown of your own for next year. It can be for Xmas or for another holiday or celebration. :) The ideas are endless.

Don't forget to leave a comment on all 25 blog posts & in our forum for your chance to win 1 of the 3 gifts Paper Secrets is giving away.

Paper Secrets Spooky Blog Hop

WELCOME to the first annual Paper Secrets Spooky Blog Hop!!! 31 blogs and 31 SPOOKY ideas!!! Here you will find my SPOOKY banner I made. It hangs perfectly on my fireplace mantle. It was really supper simple to make. I cut 6 pennant shapes out of chipboard. I added some glittery patterned paper to the shape. I layered a crepe paper rosette I made next. Each rosette is hand dipped in yummy glitter. Next I layered a scallop circle cut out glitter paper. I used a Nestie die for the circle. Next I layered the letters on each circle. I cut them out of the Storybook Cartridge on my Cricut. I added punched shapes to the circles. I used a variety of Martha Stewart punches. And also lots of vintage buttons and bakers twine. I punched holes in the corners and strung them up on a satin ribbon. I added tulle and ribbon in between.

I hope you enjoyed a quick little how to make a SPOOKY banner!!

NOW If you SIGN up as a FOLLOWER and LEAVE a comment.... you will be entered to win the cool Halloween Embellie Kit from my ETSY shop!!!! www.scrappinkitty.etsy.com

Queen Kat Stamps Blog Hop 20 - Color challenge

Welcome to another Tuesday Queen Kat stamps blog hop. This week we had a color challenge. The challenge was to use black and white and older stamps. I had a really hard time with this one. None of my stamps worked with a black and white theme. Except for the Tweedle Dee and Dum girls. I figured they were soooo perfect. The only color I added was a flesh tone with one of my Copics and a touch of red for their lips. The rest is true black and white fashion. Allthough I did use some crystal stickles to add some depth to the white. I used some 7 Gypsies paper and tied a black satin ribbon with a black rose on the bottom.
Well the next stop to the hop is the shop...... http://www.katstamps.com/home.htm
I hope you stop by and pick up some oldie but goodies in RUBBER!!!!

Until next time.... Hugs XoXo --- B

Queen Kat Stamps Blog Hop 18 - Flutterby

Welcome to another Queen Kat stamps blog hop. This week we were given a challenge to draw inspiration from a certain picture. The picture had several umbrellas and bright hues. It had some wine tones in it. But for some reason the first things I thought of when I saw it was this stamp!!! Flutterby!!! I've been dying to find a reason to use it and figured this was as good as any. For some reason I picked purple over wine. Probably since I had no wine paper in my stock. Twilight cards and a Queen Kat Hop

Welcome to another Queen Kat Blog Hop!!! Today I have a double whammy for you. Our challenge this week at Queen Kat's was to make a monochromatic card with older stamps. I jumped at the chance to make 2 cards with this FAB set!!! The Jersey Tee set. My challenge card is the brown wolf Girl card and my extra card is the Vamp girl.
My Wolf Girl card. My tribute to my fave character in the Twilight saga. Jacob Black!!!
The card is 4 1/2 X 4 1/2 Square. I used a combination of cardstock. Bobunny, Bazzill, Neenah and DCWV. Also some glittery goodness from Doodlebug. My fave part of the card is distressed edges I got using Zutter's Distrezzer. And the simple white rose on the top of the tulle. It gives it a feminine touch.
My next card is my Vamp Girl card. A nod to Edward. I used a combination again of cardstock. Bazzill, Doodlebug, Neenah and DCWV. The rich glittery red paper adds to the touch along with the red rose on top of the tulle. Don't you just want to sink your teeth in this one?
I hope you had a FAB time stopping by and sharing a Blog Hop with me and a little bit of Twilight love for the newest film to be released Eclipse. Now please finish the hop by stopping at the shop!!! http://katstamps.com/store/ Go get some RUBBER!!!!!!
