Taylored Expressions - Blast from the past Blog Hop - Feb

Hello long time since I last blogged!!! My most sincere APOLOGIES!!! BUT welcome to another FAB and FUN Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past BLOG HOP!!!! This month's theme is a "Green" theme. It could be the color green or a card with a "green" theme. I knew I wanted to use this darling tree from the set "In the park". I also knew I had to incorporate my favorite kraft paper which has that recycled appeal. With that theme of recycling in mind.... I decided to recycle some ribbon and a button off of an older project I decided to take apart and re-use.
Here are the materials I used to make this card.
Stamps - Taylored Expressions "In the park" Tree, tire and sentiment
Markers - Copic
Patterned Paper - Cosmo Cricket
Cardstock - Bazzill Basics
Karft paper - Other
Corner rounder - We R Memory Keepers
Die - Nestabilities
Bling - Stickles (Ranger)
Ribbon - Offray
Twine - Martha Stewart
Button - Epiphany Crafts
Punch - Fiskars
Ink - Clear Snap and Tsukineko

I hope that you had fun stopping by. Have fun on the rest of the hop. AND I promise I will post a new project weekly. HAPPY HOPPING!!!

It's ALL about Advents -- Paper Secrets Blog Hop

Welcome to your 1st stop on the Paper Secrets Holiday Blog Hop.
I made this to share with you today.

Here are 3 Advent Calendars I have made through out the past 5 years. Last one is an advent of drawers. You can put a small treat or a prize in each drawer. All the way to Xmas. It's a Karen Foster box which I painted and added some Making Memories paper and embelies to.

Next advent is a 12x12 canvas. This one is about 5 years old. So it has seen much love from my 7 year old. I used a standard 12x12 canvas and mod podged on some holiday paper. Next I created squares for each day. Some are pockets, tags, or doors. Each day has a sentiment or an idea to do that day. Such as hang up the wreath, bake sugar cookies or read the Night before Christmas. I used lots of odds and ends on this one. Quickutz, punches, metal findins, ribbon and stamps.

The first advent I made was done this year with my son. It's a yardstick!! And I covered it with pockets cut out of cardstock with the Winter Wishes set from the Lifestyle Crafts. The numbers were cut out on the cricut. Inside each pocket is a coordinating vintage picture. The pictures came from the latest Xmas Collection from Graphic 45. After you pull a picture out each day you can paperclip it to the envie. The back is blank so you could really write down a scripture or a quote on the back. We had a wonderful timr putting this together in his Kids Klub.

I hope these can get YOU inspired to create an advent or countdown of your own for next year. It can be for Xmas or for another holiday or celebration. :) The ideas are endless.

Paper Secrets Spooky Blog Hop

WELCOME to the first annual Paper Secrets Spooky Blog Hop!!! 31 blogs and 31 SPOOKY ideas!!! Here you will find my SPOOKY banner I made. It hangs perfectly on my fireplace mantle. It was really supper simple to make. I cut 6 pennant shapes out of chipboard. I added some glittery patterned paper to the shape. I layered a crepe paper rosette I made next. Each rosette is hand dipped in yummy glitter. Next I layered a scallop circle cut out glitter paper. I used a Nestie die for the circle. Next I layered the letters on each circle. I cut them out of the Storybook Cartridge on my Cricut. I added punched shapes to the circles. I used a variety of Martha Stewart punches. And also lots of vintage buttons and bakers twine. I punched holes in the corners and strung them up on a satin ribbon. I added tulle and ribbon in between.

I hope you enjoyed a quick little how to make a SPOOKY banner!!

NOW If you SIGN up as a FOLLOWER and LEAVE a comment.... you will be entered to win the cool Halloween Embellie Kit from my ETSY shop!!!! www.scrappinkitty.etsy.com
